Meet Roz

Dr Rosalind (“Roz”) Hill is an Osteopath with a passion for supporting families, women, and children. As a paediatric osteopath in Adelaide, she treats babies, children, and pre- and post-natal women, as well as providing care after breast surgery, including recovery from breast cancer.

Beyond her special interests, Roz helps patients of all ages with back and neck pain, sporting injuries, and everyday movement issues. Her background in yoga continues to shape her holistic, adaptable approach to care.

“Every body is different. My role is to listen, adapt, and guide — whether someone is one week old or 80 years young.”

What Roz Treats

Roz works with patients across all ages and stages of life. While her special interests are in paediatrics, women’s health, and post-surgical recovery, she treats a wide variety of conditions every week. Examples include:

  • Babies and children with feeding, sleep, or settling difficulties

  • Pre- and post-natal women with pregnancy-related changes or recovery needs

  • Post-surgical breast care, including support after breast cancer treatment

  • Back, neck, and shoulder pain from work, posture, or daily strain

  • Headaches linked to tension or movement restriction

  • Sports injuries and everyday musculoskeletal complaints

  • Older adults wanting to stay active and mobile

These are just a few areas of focus — Roz treats and manages much more, always tailoring care to the individual in front of her. Whether it’s helping a baby feel more settled, supporting a new mum in recovery, or getting someone back on their feet after injury, her goal is to provide care that restores comfort and confidence.

Roz’s Treatment Approach

Roz believes no two bodies are the same, which means no two treatments should be either. Her approach is flexible — sometimes gentle and nurturing, sometimes more direct — always guided by what each patient needs on the day.

For babies and children, this may look like subtle cranial or gentle hands-on techniques to help calm their nervous system and ease restrictions. For pre- and post-natal women, treatment often focuses on restoring comfort, improving mobility, and supporting recovery. And for adults and older patients, Roz may combine soft tissue release, joint mobilisation, or dry needling with practical movement advice.

What ties it all together is her philosophy that treatment is a team effort:

“Your body is capable of healing — sometimes it just needs a helping hand in the right direction. My role is to guide and support, while giving you the tools to keep moving forward.”

Her Philosophy & Style

Roz’s philosophy centres on empowerment. She believes the best outcomes come when patients feel safe, listened to, and actively involved in their care. That means treatment is never one-size-fits-all — it’s adapted to the individual, their goals, and what feels right for them.

She encourages patients to know they always have options and can say no at any point. For Roz, that sense of safety and choice is just as important as the techniques she uses.

Her style is warm, supportive, and practical. She combines the holistic influence of yoga with the evidence-based principles of osteopathy, blending gentle techniques with more direct approaches when appropriate. Patients often describe her as approachable, caring, and adaptable — someone who meets them where they’re at and helps them take the next step forward.

Life Outside the Clinic

Away from the clinic, Roz is mum to her daughter Evie - a role that brings joy, challenge and plenty of perspective. She enjoys Pilates, exploring the outdoors, and taking day trips around South Australia with Josh and their family.

A former yoga teacher, Roz still carries her love of mindful movement into daily life. She also has a soft spot for good food, wine, and coffee - especially when paired with family adventures in Adelaide’s leafy suburbs or on weekends away.

Why Roz Likes Treating Paediatrics

“I really enjoy working with babies and children because it’s the foundation for everything that follows. If there are restrictions early on - whether from birth, a tumble off the couch, or something else - it can sometimes lead to discomfort, unsettled behaviour, or even delays in development. Helping to ease those restrictions doesn’t just support the baby in the moment and for the future, it often brings relief to parents as well, who may be feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.

Babies can definitely be challenging, but they’re also incredibly rewarding to treat. Sometimes a small change is all it takes for a baby to settle - and for a parent to take a deep breath and feel reassured that things are going to be okay.”

Frequently Used Techniques

Roz adapts her techniques to the needs of each patient — from the gentlest touch for newborns to more direct approaches for adults. Some of the tools she commonly draws on include:

  • Soft tissue therapy – easing muscle tension and improving circulation.

  • Joint mobilisation and manipulation – restoring movement in stiff or restricted areas.

  • Cranial osteopathy – subtle, gentle work often used with babies and children.

  • Balanced Ligamentous Tension (BLT) – reducing strain and encouraging balance in the body.

  • Rule of the Artery – supporting healthy blood and fluid flow.

  • Dry needling – calming tight muscles and relieving trigger points.

  • Scar tissue and post-surgical techniques – especially for post-breast cancer care.

This isn’t a complete list, but it highlights the variety of approaches Roz uses to create safe, effective, and individualised care.
