Joseph Wallace-Ellis

Physiotherapist

Bachelor of Applied Science (Clinical Science), Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic)

Jo believes good treatment starts with understanding how you move. He combines careful listening and whole-body movement assessment with hands-on therapy, dry needling and practical exercise, so you leave understanding what's driving your problem—and knowing what to do about it.

A generalist by choice, Jo has spent more than a decade working with people of all ages and stages, first as a Remedial Massage Therapist and then as a Physiotherapist across musculoskeletal practice, community health, aged care and neurological rehabilitation. This breadth of experience has shaped the way he approaches every patient: looking at the whole person, identifying movement patterns rather than simply treating symptoms and referring on when another practitioner is better placed to help.

Jo has a particular interest in musculoskeletal injuries, movement dysfunction and rehabilitation. He also has a special interest in the assessment and treatment of the head, neck and jaw, where breathing patterns, tongue posture and neck mechanics can contribute to headaches, jaw pain, clenching and grinding.

Treatment with Jo is collaborative and practical. Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing persistent pain or looking to move and perform better, his focus is on helping you understand your body, build confidence in your movement and get back to doing what you love.

Committed to continual learning, Jo undertakes weekly clinical mentorship and regularly observes other clinicians across a range of disciplines to continue refining his assessment and treatment skills.

Outside the Clinic

Jo grew up in rural South Australia, where his parents ran camel treks across the state. He trained to an advanced level as a violinist and still enjoys playing at the occasional event. These days you'll most likely find him rock climbing, running the occasional marathon, playing tennis or pickleball with his partner, or heading off on a camping trip whenever the opportunity arises.
